Have a question you’d like to ask? I’m committed to giving clients the best care and experience I can. There’s no such thing as a bad question when it comes to mental health. Check out the answers to the FAQs below, and don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any additional questions.
WHAT TREATMENT MODEL DO YOU USE?
I am an eclectic therapist because I believe treatment needs to be taylored to the client's needs. I like to use psychodynamic theory to find the root of the presenting problem and use client centered and solutioned focused interventions to help clients move foreward by creating symptom reduction. I am also Trauma Focused CBT certified and will use intervntions from this model to work with minors dealing with trauma related issues.
HOW MUCH ARE SESSIONS? DO YOU OFFER SLIDING SCALE RATES?
Sessions are $160 - $200 per hour.
Yes there is a sliding fee scale. Typically fees are discussed on the phone or during our first session. This allows the client and therapist to agree on a set fee that works for all parties involved.
DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?
Currently I am an in-network provider for Lyra and Kaiser insurance.

For all other insurance holders, all sessions would be paid out of pocket and I can provide a monthly superbill. You can contact your insurance company and ask if they cover out of network providers for billing codes 90791 (initial assessment) and 90837 (follow up sessions). If necessary, the Tax ID or Employer Identification # is: 86-2475379.

HOW LONG DOES EACH THERAPY SESSION TAKE?
Therapy sessions are 50 minutes long and should be held on a weekly basis, when possible.
IS THERAPY CONFIDENTIAL?
Therapy is confidential between the client and the therapist. However, there are limits to confidentiality which include:
-
abuse of minors under the age of 18
-
abuse of older adults (+60 yrs old.) or dependent adults
-
immediate danger to self or others
HOW DO I KNOW IF A THERAPIST IS RIGHT FOR ME?
The best way to know is to give the therapist a chance. Follow these steps:

Interview several therapist over the phone. Give a brief description of what is leading you to seek therapy and ask how they think they can help.
Let the therapist know what you want to see in treatment and what you will not do. For example, video or written journaling.
Attend 2-3 sessions and evaluate how you feel with that person. Most of the progress is going to come from the therapeutic relationship.
